My poor neglected blog.

I dont mean to be a space cadet - but it happens to the best of us.

Recently in Valley County there has been a handful of forest fires, the majority of them have been behind two mountian ranges - but as of last week the Gray's Creek burst into flames. Gray's Creek has spread with gusto to aproxmently 24,000 acers in a week! The winds have not helped at all - pushing the flames to the North East - making life in Valley County a bit more prized. On Tuesday there was a threat of rain, but with the storm swirling over the valley we were able to pick up 1-2 inches of rain. and a spectacular lighting show - River hid inside the tub and Tay under the wood pile, Roland enjoyed the thunderstorm with us outside. (these are our dogs)

This morning was as if the Oregon Coast followed us home - thick fog - so thick - visabillity under one mile - and everything had a thick coat of dew on it. The mountains are so interesting.

Speaking of the Oregon coast - we had an amazing time on our honeymoon! My favorite part of it all was the hikes we went on - we stopped at some old groth Sitka Spruces. (Nothing as impressive as the redwoods) But they were still mighty and breath taking. Camping was fun - we did not know what to expect for the String Summit - but once arrived we quickly found out. We got the chance to haul all of the gear from the car to our mile up hill destination. That wasnt the end of it - there was at least five mile trecks everyday from the music venue back to camp - venue to toilets, car to camp, you get the idea....

We want to go to the String Summit again next year! It was so much fun and I have already begun to miss all of our new friends. Check out the web site -

I am hosting a Halloween/mybirthdayparty/dinnerclub function next month and the only idea for a theme I have come up with is 'Dead Famous People'. With the notion that you look like the DEAD version of them...... zombie party anyone?

I would like some ideas of parties you have attended with themes - or maybe an opinion of my idea!
